Toyota Camry Cabin & Boot Checks for Import Buyers

A sedan cabin and boot should be assessed around the intended occupants and their usual luggage. A photograph can show the layout, but it does not establish every fit, adjustment or comfort requirement. Describe the customer’s needs before requesting evidence.

TAKE INTO YOUR BUYING BRIEF

Three things to record

CheckWhat to request
PassengersNormal occupancy, access and adjustment needs
LuggageItem dimensions and a usable opening check
FunctionsVehicle-specific operation and equipment evidence
01

Describe the normal passenger use

Record usual occupancy, rear-seat use and any particular entry or seating needs. Ask for a demonstration of the adjustments that matter. Front-seat comfort in one position does not establish the rear passenger’s usable space.

Where child restraints are needed, check the intended combination against the vehicle and restraint instructions. Avoid claiming universal compatibility from a general interior photograph. Individual fitting questions deserve an appropriate practical assessment.

02

Measure the luggage that matters

Ask for the dimensions of cases, mobility equipment or work items that must travel with the passengers. Compare the opening and usable boot space, not only a quoted volume. An awkward item can fail to pass through an opening despite a generous total capacity.

Request a loading demonstration where fit determines acceptance. Identify the seat positions and the exact items used. Keep a requirement unconfirmed if remote evidence cannot establish it, rather than substituting an unsupported reassurance.

03

Confirm the actual equipment

Review seat operation, climate controls and any requested convenience features on the candidate. Similar cabin styling may accompany different trim equipment. The equipment checklist links each requirement to suitable evidence.

For used cars, add photographs of wear, controls and any disclosed damage. A brochure image does not document the offered cabin’s condition. The inspection guide explains how those observations form part of the wider acceptance record.

04

Check digital use and supplied items

Test required language and phone functions with an identified device where possible. Keep account-dependent services separate from offline controls. Do not describe a successful demonstration on another car as proof of the customer’s eventual experience.

Record keys and agreed accessories in the handover file. If an accessory is supplied separately, identify it and retain any support information. The visible cabin should match the equipment promised in the offer.

Ask the seller to retain a wide view and a close view in the same demonstration. That combination makes it easier to connect the measured opening or operating control to the car being offered.

05

Example: an airport-transfer requirement

A buyer frequently carries rear passengers and several large cases. Ask for the passenger arrangement and case dimensions before selecting a candidate. Request a loading check with the needed seats available, then verify the cabin functions essential to the customer. Keep any uncertain fit requirement visible. This is more informative than describing the car as spacious without demonstrating the particular use that determines acceptance.
